NETA Ministries is dedicated to improving the lives of individuals and communities in Jamaica. One of the ways that we fulfil our mission is through our “We Save Lives” Project, which comprises two arms:

  1. an initiative aimed at supporting cancer patients, and

  2. saving lives through blood donation

Breast cancer is a major health issue that affects millions of women worldwide. In Jamaica, it is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths among women. The ICWI Pink Run is an important platform for raising awareness about breast cancer and the importance of early detection and treatment. Pink Run is a major fundraiser for Jamaica Reach 2 Recovery (JR2R), the breast cancer support arm of the Jamaica Cancer Society. The event aims to raise funds for breast cancer treatment and support services, and is held annually in October, Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Therefore, on October 30, 2022, NETA Ministries participated in the ICWI's Pink Run. We are proud to have participated in this important event, playing our part to support the vital work of JR2R and the Jamaica Cancer Society.

Following the ICWI Pink Run, the Ministry hosted a Blood Drive on November 5, 2022. The event aimed to encourage community members to donate blood and help save lives. Blood donation is an essential act of generosity that can help save the lives of people who require blood transfusions due to accidents, surgeries, and other medical emergencies.

The Blood Drive was a great success, with many people coming out to donate blood. NETA Ministries collaborated with the National Blood Transfusion Service (NBTS) to ensure all donations were collected safely and efficiently. Donors were screened for eligibility and given refreshments after donating blood. NETA Ministries helped to raise awareness about the importance of blood donation and encouraged members to give back and help save lives.

The We Save Lives project is an important initiative that allows NETA Ministries to give back to the community and raise awareness about important health issues. Join us as we do it again in 2023.
